In the much-awaited semi-final 2 of the ongoing Women's World Cup 2025, India and Australia women will be facing each other on Thursday at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy. The clash is a do-or-die game for both teams, with the winner advancing to the final. India, ahead of the match, have been handed a massive setback, with Pratika Rawal being ruled out of the remainder of the game. She had picked up an ankle in a fielding blow during India's match against Bangladesh.

India have brought in Shafali Verma as a potential replacement. Verma has been included in the squad despite being on the sidelines from ODIs for more than a year. Australia, on the other hand, are sweating on the fitness of Alyssa Healy, who missed the previous two matches against England and South Africa following a minor calf strain. However, Australia will be satisfied with the positive news that Healy had a training session on Tuesday as she continues her recovery from the injury.

India secured their place in the semi-final with a commanding win over New Zealand Women, posting their highest ever World Cup total of 340/3 in 49 overs thanks to centuries from Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana. Pratika Rawal slammed (122) while Smriti Mandhana scored a brilliant (109). Australia secured the top spot in the league stage by crushing South Africa Women, powered by Alana King’s record-setting (7) wickets for (18) in just seven overs. Notably, in their earlier face-off in the ongoing tournament, Australia edged India by 3 wickets, chasing a total of 330.
