In a huge move ahead of the upcoming IPL season, reports suggest that the Rajasthan Royals (RR) are in serious discussion to trade their long‐time wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in exchange for all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. According to ESPNCricinfo, both franchises have approached the concerned players, and the trade process will officially begin once RR and CSK send an expression of interest to the IPL governing council.

Samson has been a cornerstone at the Rajasthan Royals. Since re-joining the Jaipur-based team in 2018, he has represented them through 11 seasons and captained the side from 2021 onwards. The Royals retained him ahead of the last mega-auction for a huge amount. He has amassed 4704 runs in his IPL career with an average of 30.94 and a strike rate of 139.04.

Jadeja, meanwhile, has been with CSK since 2012, playing a massive role in their campaign every season. His status at the franchise is that of a veteran stalwart with 3260 runs and 170 wickets. As for Curran, he has represented Chennai Super Kings as well as Punjab Kings. Notably, if the trade occurs, then it will be one of the biggest trades in IPL history.
