The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has introduced a series of changes to its captaincy group. The board has confirmed Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Saif Hassan as the new vice-captains in Test, ODI, and T20Is, respectively.

All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been appointed as the vice-captain of the Test team, serving as deputy to current skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto. Shanto is expected to continue as Bangladesh’s Test captain at least until the end of the 2025–27 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

"Saif Hassan's elevation as vice-captain of the T20 team comes on the back of consistent and impressive performances in the shortest format for Bangladesh. Litton Kumer Das has been entrusted with leading the side until the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2026," BCB said in a statement.

Shanto will also continue in a leadership capacity in ODIs, serving as vice-captain to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who was named the captain of the ODI side earlier this year in June. Meanwhile, Litton Das will continue as the captain of the Bangladesh T20I side until the upcoming T20I World Cup, which is scheduled to be played next year.
