India penalised for slow over-rate during second ODI against South Africa

India have been penalised 10 percent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over rate during the second ODI against South Africa in Raipur.
"Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after KL Rahul’s side was ruled to be two overs short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration," ICC said in its release.
"Therefore, India was charged in accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences."
There was no need for a formal hearing after Indian captain KL Rahul admitted to the offence and accepted the sanctions. Meanwhile, on-field umpires Rod Tucker and Rohan Pandit, third umpire Sam Nogajski, and fourth umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal levelled the charge. South Africa had won the second ODI to level the series 1-1, but India, finding their rhythm back at the right time, bounced back to win the third and final game in Visakhapatnam to clinch the series 2-1.
