David Warner to miss BBL|15 season opener

Sydney Thunder will miss the services of their captain, David Warner, after he was ruled out of the season opener and a much-anticipated final rematch against the Hobart Hurricanes due to injury. Warner, according to reports, picked up the injury while spending time with his children at the beach. The setback comes as a blow for the Thunder, who are hoping to start their season on a strong note. Warner is, however, expected to recover in time for Saturday’s high-profile Sydney derby against the Sixers.
“We try not to dwell too much on the past but last year’s loss in the Grand Final is going to act as fuel for us on Tuesday. It's obviously not ideal to not have Davey but we’d rather be careful earlier in the tournament. I'm confident he’ll be right for our biggest game of the year, the Sydney Smash on Saturday," Sydney Thunder General Manager Trent Copeland said in a statement.
"Charlie Anderson is one of the brightest young talents in the whole country, as we’ve seen with Australia A and NSW in recent times.”
In Warner's absence, Chris Green will lead the side.
