Joshua Dorne to captain West Indies at Under-19 Men's World Cup

Top-order batter Joshua Dorne has been appointed captain of the West Indies for the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup, scheduled to be held across Zimbabwe and Namibia in January–February 2026. His elevation to the leadership role comes on the back of a string of impressive performances in recent youth internationals.
All-rounder Jonathan Van Lange has been named vice-captain. Van Lange’s ability to contribute with both bat and ball will serve as a great consolidation for West Indies. One of the notable inclusions in the 15-member squad is Jewel Andrew, who has already broken into the senior West Indies side, featuring in T20Is and ODIs.
West Indies enter the Under-19 World Cup with strong preparation behind them, having recently hosted back-to-back seven-match Youth ODI series against Sri Lanka and England. Several other players like Zachary Carter, Matthew Miller, Jakeem Pollard, Shaquan Belle, and Vitel Lawes have also been named in the squad.
