Sri Lanka unveil squad for crucial Pakistan series

Sri Lanka have announced their squad for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan beginning on January 7. With the T20I World Cup set to begin on February 7, the series is crucial, offering the side a final opportunity to fine-tune their performance. Dasun Shanaka will lead the contingent.

Around him, Sri Lanka have opted for experienced names such as Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera,and Dhananjaya de Silva. To sharpen their preparations, Sri Lanka have also included spinners Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, and Maheesh Theekshana.

One of the notable aspects of the squad is the inclusion of several players who were not part of Sri Lanka’s earlier preliminary squad for the T20 World Cup. Their selection hints that the team management is still keeping the door open for strong performances.
