Sri Lanka bring in Vikram Rathour as batting coach

Sri Lanka have brought in former Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour as the batting coach of the Sri Lanka men’s team on a consultancy basis, taking a crucial step in the lead-up to the T20I World Cup 2026. Rathour is set to join the Sri Lankan squad on January 18, just four days before the start of their home white-ball series against England. His tenure with the team will run until March 10.

The appointment will undoubtedly help Sri Lanka strengthen their preparations for the upcoming global event. With the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka will be keen to get themselves fully prepared.

Sri Lanka, who are placed in Group B in the World Cup alongside Ireland, Zimbabwe, Australia and Oman, will begin their campaign in Colombo against Ireland on February 8.
