Pakistan to host Australia ahead of T20I World Cup 2026

Pakistan are set to host Australia in a three-match T20I series in the build-up to the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The series will be crucial for both sides in their preparations for the global event.
This will also mark Australia’s return to T20 cricket in Pakistan after a four-year gap. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host all three matches, scheduled for January 29, January 31, and February 1.
“We are excited and look forward to hosting Australia for the three-match T20I series here in Lahore. The tour marks a blockbuster beginning of the year for Pakistan Cricket fans and I urge them to turn out in numbers during the series to support both the teams as they put final touches to their T20 World Cup preparations," COO of the PCB Sumair Ahmed Syed said.
“I’m sure the Gaddafi Stadium has become a familiar sight for Australian Cricket team as they have played a Test, five ODIs and a T20I here since March 2022.”
With the World Cup set to be staged jointly in India and Sri Lanka, both teams will see this assignment as a valuable opportunity to fine-tune preparations. Meanwhile, the World Cup will begin on February 7.
