Pakistan have named a strong 16-player squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia, with Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi being included in the squad. The series is massive important for Pakistan in fine-tuning their preparations and combinations ahead of the T20I World Cup 2026.

Shaheen Afridi is also back n the squad. He was recently sidelined during last month’s Big Bash League with a knee ligament injury. His presence will be a major boost for Pakistan’s pace attack.

Talking about Babar, he has retained his place in the squad despite a difficult BBL campaign. In the BBL, Babar managed only 202 runs across 11 innings at a strike rate of 103.06. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf misses out despite enjoying a standout season in BBL. Khawaja Nafay also keeps his place after an eye-catching debut series in Sri Lanka earlier this month. The three-match series will begin on January 29.

Pakistan T20I squad: Salman Ali Agha (c), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan and Usman Tariq
