BBL|15 Final: Tournament giants Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers gear up for blockbuster clash

The stage is set for a blockbuster showdown with Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers preparing to meet in the BBL|15 Final on Sunday in Perth. Both sides have been the most successful teams in the tournament’s history and will have everything to play for in the final. The Scorchers head into the final riding a wave of confidence after rediscovering their form at the business end of the season.
A four-match winning streak has helped them seal their spot in the decider. A major boost for the home side is the return of left-arm quick Joel Paris, who has been sidelined for several weeks with a groin injury but is now back in the squad and in contention to play his first match in three weeks. Meanwhile, Ashton Agar is out after failing to recover from a calf issue. All-rounders Aaron Hardie and Cooper Connolly will be expected to lead the team's batting assault.
Sydney Sixers too arrive on the back of confidence. Their place in the final was sealed with an emphatic 57-run victory over Hobart Hurricanes in the Challenger. Veteran opener Daniel Hughes played his part in the Challenger, chipping in with a brisk cameo after stepping in for Babar Azam, who was recalled for Pakistan’s national duties. Much of Sydney’s hope will rest on their marquee Australian stars Mitchell Starc and Steve Smith, who so far have been key to their success. Notably, Perth Scorchers have lifted the trophy five times, while Sydney Sixers have claimed three titles of their own.
