Jemimah Rodrigues fined for slow over-rate following match against Gujarat Giants
Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues has been fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during her team’s Women’s Premier League (WPL) match against Gujarat Giants. The incident occurred during the clash at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday.
“Jemimah Rodrigues, Captain of Delhi Capitals has been fined after her team maintained a slow over rate during their team’s match against Gujarat Giants at the BCA Stadium, Vadodara on Tuesday,” WPL said in a statement.
“As it was her first offence of the season under the WPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Jemimah was fined INR 12 lakh,” it added.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals lost the game by three runs. Chasing a total of 174, Capitals were restricted to 171/8 in 20 overs. For DC, only Niki Prasad had showed courage by smashing 47 off 24 balls.
