Moeen Ali returns to English domestic cricket with Yorkshire switch

Moeen Ali has reversed his retirement from county cricket with immediate effect, confirming his return via a switch to Yorkshire for this year’s Vitality T20 Blast. The veteran all-rounder is also preparing to enter the Hundred auction, having sat out the competition last summer.
The decision is crucial for Moeen, who had stepped away from English domestic cricket only months ago. Moeen’s renewed commitment to English cricket comes after a globe-trotting 2024 season. Following his retirement from international cricket in September, he featured in eight group-stage matches for Warwickshire in last summer’s T20 Blast.
“I’m delighted to be joining Yorkshire for the Blast. It’s a huge club with a proud history, but what really appeals to me is where the team is heading," Moeen Ali said on the development.
“There’s a lot of talent in the squad and the chance to work with Anthony and help push the group forward is exciting for me," he said.
Talking about Moeen's international career, he has played 68 Tests, 138 ODIs, and 92 T20Is for England. Overall he has scored 6,678 runs and taken 366 wickets.
