Sri Lanka reveal T20 World Cup squad, Dhananjaya de Silva dropped

Sri Lanka have unveiled their squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, placing their trust once again in all-rounder Dasun Shanaka to lead the side. Shanaka, who was earlier named captain in the preliminary squad announced in December, continues at the helm as Sri Lanka look to perform better in the 20-team event.
Sri Lanka have named a solid batting line-up, featuring several proven performers like Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, and Charith Asalanka. They also included experienced all-rounders in Wanindu Hasaranga, and Kamindu Mendis.
Sri Lanka, who have been placed alongside Australia, Ireland, Oman and Zimbabwe, will kick off their campaign against Ireland at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on February 8.
