Seifert, Allen blast New Zealand to staggering 10-wicket win over UAE

Launching a relentless batting assault, openers Tim Seifert and Finn Allen tore into the United Arab Emirates bowling attack to help New Zealand register a commanding 10-wicket victory in Chennai on Tuesday in the 11th match of the T20 World Cup. Chasing a competitive target of 174, Seifert and Allen were simply unstoppable, stitching together an unbroken opening stand to take New Zealand home in 15.2 overs. The pair remained unbeaten throughout the chase, with Seifert finishing on a scintillating 89* from 42 balls and Allen providing perfect support with an aggressive 84* from 50 balls. New Zealand ended on 175/0 as they cruised to victory without any trouble.
Earlier, UAE had put up a spirited batting performance after deciding to bat. Captain Muhammad Waseem led from the front with a powerful unbeaten 66 from 45 balls. He was helped by Alishan Sharafu, who played a mature knock of 55 from 47 deliveries, helping UAE post a respectable total of 173/6 in 20 overs. For New Zealand, Matt Henry claimed the figures of 2/37.
