IND vs PAK group-stage clash shatters viewership records, becomes the most viewed T20I match ever

The ongoing T20 World Cup's showpiece clash between India and Pakistan has shattered viewership records, becoming the most widely reached match in the history of ICC T20Is. According to JioStar, the official digital and broadcast partner of the tournament, this blockbuster showdown achieved an unprecedented digital reach of 163 million viewers, the highest for any ICC event in the T20 format to date.
This figure even overtook the viewership of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 final between India and South Africa. On mobile platforms, the India-Pakistan match recorded the highest reach of any league-stage fixture in ICC T20 history, surpassing the digital viewership seen in their previous face-off at the 2024 World Cup.
On connected TVs viewership soared even further, registering 2.4 times the reach of the previous game in 2024. Talking about the high-voltage match, India overpowered their bitter rivals, beating them by 61 runs in a largely one-sided game. India, asked to bat, posted a respectable total of 175/7 in 20 overs following a brutal assault from opener Ishan Kishan, who blasted a magnificent knock of 77 off 40 balls.
Chasing the target, Pakistan started losing wickets from the very start, with powerful performers such as Babar Azam and Sahibzada Farhan succumbing to pressure. However, Usman Khan sparked a brief revival with a gutsy 44 off 34, but Indian bowlers did not allow Pakistan to make their return in the game, bowling them out for 114 in 18 overs.
