Gujarat Titans have strengthened their backroom staff ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League by appointing former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Vijay Dahiya as their new assistant coach. Dahiya represented India in 19 ODIs and two Test matches during his playing career.

He also enjoyed a productive run in domestic cricket with the Delhi cricket team. In his coaching career, one of his most notable achievements came when he guided Delhi to victory in the 2007–08 season of the Ranji Trophy, helping the side reclaim the domestic cricket title. Previously, in the IPL, he served as an assistant coach at the Kolkata Knight Riders, playing a major role in their first two championship wins, in 2012 and 2014.

Since then, he has remained actively involved in the coaching circuit, working with various domestic teams and franchises in the IPL.

Meanwhile, his appointment at Gujarat Titans comes shortly after the franchise brought in former Australian batting great Matthew Hayden as their batting coach. Notably, Gujarat Titans will kick off their IPL 2026 campaign against Punjab Kings on March 31.
