Hussain Talat hospitalised following shoulder injury

Pakistan allrounder Hussain Talat was rushed to hospital after suffering a devastating left-shoulder injury while attempting to stop a boundary during the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Friday. The incident occurred during the sixth over of Bangladesh’s run chase. The moment unfolded when Bangladesh batter Litton Das drove a delivery from Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Wasim Jr. through the offside. The ball sped toward the cover boundary, prompting Talat to sprint across the field in an effort to prevent it from reaching the rope.
As the ball neared the boundary line, Talat stretched to pull it back into play. While making the effort, Talat stepped onto the protective foam padding placed near the boundary boards. The unstable footing caused him to lose balance just after he made contact with the ball. He then rammed into the advertising hoardings and landed heavily on his left shoulder. The impact appeared severe as Talat immediately showed signs of discomfort. A stretcher was brought onto the field, and Talat was carried off. He was then taken to a nearby ambulance waiting outside the stadium.
"Talat received immediate medical attention from the team's medical staff on the field. Following the initial assessment, he has been taken to a hospital for a detailed examination. The nature and extent of the injury will be determined after the doctors complete further medical evaluation," PCB stated in a press release.
Meanwhile, Pakistan bounced back to level the three-match series 1-1 after beating Bangladesh by 128 runs (DLS) in the second ODI on Friday.
