Pakistan batter Salman Agha has been reprimanded and received a demerit point from the International Cricket Council (ICC) following an incident during the second ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Mirpur on Friday. Agha was found to have breached Article 2.2, which relates to "abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an international match". The incident happened in the 39th over of Pakistan’s innings.

Agha, who had played an important knock of 64 runs from 62 balls, was at the non-striker’s end while captain Mohammad Rizwan struck the ball back toward Bangladesh bowler Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Miraz managed to stop the ball with his foot. At that point, Agha was outside his crease and appeared ready to pick up the ball and return it to the bowler. However, Miraz quickly picked the ball and completed a run-out by hitting the stumps with an underarm throw while Agha remained out of his ground.

Following the dismissal, Agha expressed his frustration by throwing his helmet and gloves onto the ground. After reviewing the incident, match referee Neeyamur Rashid Rahul ruled that Agha’s actions constituted a breach of Article 2.2 of the ICC’s conduct guidelines. Agha admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by the referee, avoiding the need for a formal hearing.
