Virat Kohli picks his all-time RCB XI, goes for big stars

As the excitement around the 19th season of the Indian Premier League builds, fans of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru received a special treat from their longest-serving star and batting legend, Virat Kohli. Ahead of RCB's opening match, the legendary batter shared his all-time RCB playing XI, going for big names. Notably, Kohli will return to action on March 28 when Royal Challengers Bengaluru begin their title defence against the Sunrisers in Bengaluru.
In his playing XI, Kohli went for six batters, two fast bowlers, a spinner, and one all-rounder. Notably, in the IPL, franchises can field only four international players in their starting XI, making those choices crucial. Kohli began by naming his four foreign picks, naming players who made a major impact for RCB over the years and played key roles in RCB's success.
"I would say Gayle and myself to open AB at three. Okay, let me get the four overseas out of the way. AB, Chris, and Mitchell Starc, because he played for us. The 4th overseas player for me would be, I think, Dale, because I would like the bowling to be even stronger in that XI. So yeah, you got two seamers; you got Chris, myself and AB," Kohli said in a video posted by RCB.
Kohli also placed his trust in Indian players who formed the backbone of the team during different IPL seasons.
"At four, I would have KL. He had an amazing season, I think, batting at four for us. Five, I would say, give five to Rajat, maybe, because he plays spin amazingly well and he's one of the best Indian talents that we've had. Six would be Dinesh, for sure, and Yuzi at 11 for his batting ability. Now I've got seven and eight left, right? Anil Bhai at eight - wow, that would be an unbelievable 11. Okay, I'll go Harshal, with his little bit of batting ability as well. And he fits in as the perfect third seamer; he's been bowling in different phases," he added.
