Relentless showers ruin face-off between KKR and PBKS

The high-profile showdown between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League ended in disappointment as relentless rain forced the game to be abandoned at Eden Gardens on Monday. There was huge anticipation in the lead-up to the clash, but the weather had other plans. The match was interrupted early, with Kolkata struggling at 25 for 2 in 3.4 overs.
The top order failed to find stability, with Finn Allen and Cameron Green departing for 6 and 4, respectively. Meanwhile, despite several attempts to resume play, the persistent downpour left the ground conditions unsuitable, leading umpires to call off the match. Following no result, both teams were awarded one point each.
For Kolkata, this result brings a small sense of relief. After suffering two consecutive defeats, they finally open their account in the points table. On the other hand, Punjab Kings continue to maintain their unbeaten run in the tournament, having already won their first two games.
