Clinical RR down Mumbai in rain-shortened clash

Rajasthan Royals outclassed Mumbai Indians on Tuesday in Guwahati, registering a commanding 27-run victory and showcasing a brilliant all-round display in a rain-shortened clash. The match, which was reduced to 11 overs per side after a delay of nearly three hours, turned into a one-sided affair as Mumbai Indians struggled to challenge Rajasthan. After being asked to bat, Rajasthan got off to a blistering start, with the opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi setting the tone early, racing to 50 runs in 2.4 overs.
Jaiswal played a sensational innings, scoring 77 runs off 32 deliveries. Meanwhile, the 15-year-old Sooryavanshi impressed with his fearless approach, smashing 39 runs off 14 balls. His innings included five sixes. Rajasthan Royals managed to post a strong total of 150/3 in 11 overs.
Chasing a target of 151, Mumbai Indians had a disastrous start. Their innings was hindered by regular setbacks, as key batters fell early and failed to build any meaningful partnerships. The early dismissals of Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton, and Suryakumar Yadav put the team under immense pressure. From there, the situation only worsened, with no batter able to step up.
With no partnerships developing and pressure mounting, Mumbai Indians were restricted to 123/9 in 11 overs. Naman Dhir and Sherfane Rutherford were the top-scorers for Mumbai, slamming 25 runs each.
