IPL 2026: KKR seek redemption as they meet sanguine CSK

In match 22 of the ongoing Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday. With the competition nearing its one-quarter mark, the margin for error is shrinking rapidly, and both sides are under pressure to sharpen their performances and get victories under their belt.

Chennai’s campaign got off to a rocky start as they stumbled through three successive defeats. However, they finally found their rhythm in their previous outing against Delhi Capitals, producing a well-rounded performance at home to secure their first victory of the season. One of the standout moments in that game was a stunning century that turned the tide and anchored the innings with authority.

One of the positives for CSK has been the form of Sanju Samson, who after a string of low scores at the start of the season, slammed an unbeaten 115-run knock to lead CSK's innings. On the other hand, KKR find themselves in a far more precarious position.

They are still searching for their first win, languishing at the bottom of the table. Their struggles have been evident in both departments, failing to maintain consistency in both the batting and bowling departments. For Kolkata, this match gives an opportunity to reset their campaign. A win here could give much-needed confidence and help them build momentum for the rest of the tournament.
