Shubman Gill masterclass powers GT to dazzling win over KKR

Dashing Shubman Gill blasted a remarkable 86-run knock as Gujarat Titans continued their impressive run with a convincing five-wicket win over struggling Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad on Friday. Chasing a competitive target of 181, Gujarat began confidently, with Sai Sudharsan and Gill maintaining an aggressive approach.
The pair kept the scoreboard ticking at a healthy rate before Sudharsan departed after scoring 22. Gill, however, stayed composed and in control, anchoring the chase nicely. Jos Buttler contributed an incredible 25. Gill, however, remained the central figure as his 86-run knock proved to be the backbone of the chase. Towards the end, Glenn Phillips chipped in with a handy 19 to keep GT in the chase. Meanwhile, Rahul Tewatia scored 7 runs unbeaten, helping the Titans cross the finish line comfortably in 19.4 overs.
Earlier, Kolkata, deciding to bat, had a shaky start. GT's Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj struck early blows, reducing KKR to 32/3 within the first few overs. Amid the fall of wickets, Cameron Green stepped up with a determined performance. His 79 off 55 balls steadied the innings and gave Kolkata something to defend. He built a crucial partnership of 55 runs with Rovman Powell, who added 27, as the duo took the side to 180.
