Gujarat Titans sign Connor Esterhuizen as replacement for injured Tom Banton

Gujarat Titans have brought in promising South African talent Connor Esterhuizen as a replacement for England’s Tom Banton, who has been ruled out due to a finger injury. Banton, who was picked up by Gujarat at his base price of INR 2 crore during the Indian Premier League auction, unfortunately did not get a chance to feature in a single match this season before being sidelined.

His absence created an opening in the squad, which the Titans have now filled with a young and in-form wicketkeeper-batter. Esterhuizen joins the team for INR 75 lakh, and his recent performances suggest significant potential.

He only made his T20 International debut earlier this year during South Africa’s tour of New Zealand. In that five-match series, Esterhuizen impressed with both consistency and aggression. He accumulated 200 runs at an average of 50. His performances included two half-centuries. He has also represented MI Cape Town and Pretoria Capitals in the SA20.
