MI bowling coach Paras Mhambrey provides positive update on Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians have received a massive boost heading into their high-octane clash against Gujarat Titans on Monday in Ahmedabad, with bowling coach Paras Mhambrey confirming the availability of experienced performers Rohit Sharma and Mitchell Santner, who both missed the team's last match against Punjab Kings. Rohit picked up the hamstring injury during the team's match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Santner's absence has also been a big setback for the side.

The positive development comes at a critical time for Mumbai Indians, whose campaign has veered off following four consecutive defeats. Despite opening their campaign with a thumping win against KKR, MI have been unable to maintain momentum and sustained performances. Their past losses have exposed vulnerabilities in both their batting and bowling departments, with players not quite finding the form.

"Both are fit. In fact, if you are just walking by the nets out here, if you just look at Rohit's batting. So yeah, he is working on it. Santner is fit. So, unfortunately, we missed him in the last game, picked up a bug. Not something that we could do. But both are fit, yeah," he said at the pre-match press conference.

Meanwhile, for MI, the match against GT is a must-win battle to revive their campaign. They would hope for Jasprit Bumrah to find rhythm to help the side in the bowling department. In the batting department, Tilak Varma, Riyan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav would need to step up to help the side with runs.
