Bangladesh add Tanzim Hasan Sakib to squad for final ODI against New Zealand
Bangladesh have bolstered their pace attack ahead of the ODI series decider against New Zealand in Chattogram on Thursday, bringing young fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib into the 16-member squad. The 23-year-old returns after recovering from a back issue that ruled him out of last month’s matches against Pakistan. And he also missed the first two ODIs of the ongoing series against New Zealand.
The three-match series is currently levelled 1-1 after Bangladesh bounced back to clinch victory in the second game. In the second game, rising pacer Nahid Rana delivered a standout spell, claiming five wickets. For New Zealand, only Nick Kelly showed resistance, scoring a determined 83, but no other batter could step up as New Zealand were bowled out for 198. Bangladesh, on the other hand, chased down the total in 35.3 overs, with opener Tanzid Hasan scoring 76, and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto contributed 50.
