Bangladesh confirm squad for Pakistan Tests, bring in new faces

Bangladesh have announced their squad for the first Test of the upcoming two-match home Test series against Pakistan, naming top-order batter Tanzid Hasan and wicketkeeper-batter Amite Hasan in the Test squad. The duo has earned their maiden call-ups ahead of the first Test, which is scheduled to begin in Dhaka on May 8, with the second Test set to take place in Sylhet from May 16.
Tanzid Hasan has already demonstrated his talent in the ODIs, boasting one ODI century and six half-centuries. In the shortest format, he has been even more prolific, registering 11 T20I fifties. He also has five first-class centuries, maintaining an average of 40.72 across 25 matches.
Amite Hasan, on the other hand, has been rewarded for his consistency in domestic cricket. The wicketkeeper-batter has been a standout performer in Bangladesh’s first-class circuit, amassing 11 centuries in 49 matches at an impressive average of 49.32. The squad, which will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, features the likes of Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das and Taijul Islam.
