Kishan, Klaasen shine in SRH's huge win over PBKS

Punjab's stylish batter Cooper Connolly's century-laden knock went in vain as Sunrisers Hyderabad, producing an amazing all-round display, overpowered Punjab Kings, sealing a 33-run win in a rather one-sided clash on Wednesday in Hyderabad. After being put to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad came out and maintained an aggressive intent from the very beginning. The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head were fearless, stitching a blistering 54-run stand in 3.3 overs. Sharma smoked 35 off 13 balls while Head helped him with a brilliant 38 off 19.
The momentum continued as Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen took charge in the middle overs, hitting 55 and 69 respectively to anchor the innings and provide the late surge. Their partnership pushed Hyderabad to a total of 235/4 in 20 overs.
Chasing a mammoth target of 236, Punjab Kings faltered almost immediately. Their openers, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, were dismissed for 1 and 3, respectively. The troubles deepened when skipper Shreyas Iyer fell cheaply for 5.
However, Cooper Connolly stood tall as the lone warrior. He scored an unbeaten 107 as he attempted to rebuild the innings and keep the chase alive. However, with wickets falling at regular intervals, his effort went in vain. Punjab Kings finished at 202/7 in 20 overs, suffering their third defeat on the bounce.
