England's Alexa Stonehouse gets maiden call-up ahead of second ODI vs NZ

The England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed the inclusion of young pace bowler Alexa Stonehouse in England’s squad ahead of the second ODI against the New Zealand on Wednesday, strengthening the hosts’ bowling resources during the ongoing ICC Women’s Championship series.
The announcement comes after England secured a one-wicket victory in the opening ODI against New Zealand at Durham, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Stonehouse, a left-arm seamer who has impressed in domestic cricket this season, earned the call-up following a string of strong performances in the ongoing One-Day Cup competition.
The 21-year-old has taken eight wickets in five matches, including consecutive three-wicket hauls against Durham and Somerset. Meanwhile, England are already without their captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt, who is recovering from a tear to her left calf.
