West Indies have announced a new-look squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in Jamaica, with Ackeem Auguste, Jewel Andrew and Shamar Springer earning calls for the series. The trio comes into the squad as West Indies look to prepare a strong unit. Auguste has featured in nine T20Is, while wicketkeeper-batter Jewel Andrew has represented West Indies five times in the format. Shamar Springer returns after making six previous T20I appearances.

Meanwhile, Johnson Charles, Quentin Sampson and Jayden Seales, all of whom were part of West Indies setup during the T20 World Cup earlier this year, have been dropped. Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has not been included in the squad as the management continues to monitor his workload. On the other hand, Shamar Joseph, who recently departed the ODI squad due to personal reasons, is expected to rejoin the side before the start of the T20I series.

“This series is an important one for us as it’s our first since the World Cup in India, where the team played with passion, fight and the togetherness that West Indies cricket is built on.

"Our focus now is to build on those foundations, continue growing as a team and make our fans proud with the way we compete against Sri Lanka.”

The series begins on June 11 with the first T20I in Jamaica followed by the second and third matches on June 13 and 14 respectively.
