Batting maestro Virat Kohli reflected on RCB's tremendously successful campaign in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, where the side thrashed Gujarat Titans in the final to secure their back-to-back IPL titles. RCB's successful defence was led by the legendary Kohli, slamming a magnificent 75 unbeaten in the final to lift the side to a grand victory. With the title win, RCB created history, becoming the third team after Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings to fortuitously defend the title.

"Started the season with belief. Ended with back to back titles. This team lived every emotion together. the highs, the pressure, the hurdles, and the unwavering support. It feels extra special because... this place is HOME! @RCBTweets," Kohli wrote on X.

In the final, RCB were dominant from the very first ball, with Josh Hazlewood, Rasikh Salam and Bhuvneshwar Kumar playing a greater role in restricting RCB to 155/8 in 20 overs. Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned with two wickets each while Rasikh Salam chipped in with three wickets after RCB decided to bowl.

Chasing the target, Virat Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer got to the task pretty nicely, stitching a 62-run partnership to lay a strong foundation for a lively win. After Iyer's (32) departure, Tim David played his part, scoring 24 off 17 and forging a crucial 41-run partnership to maintain the steadiness in the chase.

Though RCB kept losing wickets, chase master Virat Kohli stood tall till the end to take his side home. On the whole, Virat Kohli had an amazing season, finishing as the fourth-highest run-scorer in IPL 2026 with 675 runs in 16 innings at an average of 56.25 and a strike rate of 165.84.
