West Indies have been dealt a setback ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup, with vice-captain Chinelle Henry being forced off the field after sustaining an injury during a warm-up fixture against Australia in Cardiff on Wednesday. T

he incident occurred at Sophia Gardens during Australia's innings when Henry attempted to take a catch near the boundary. Standing at long-on, the experienced all-rounder sprinted forward after Georgia Voll launched a delivery from spinner Afy Fletcher.

As Henry moved into place to catch the ball, she appeared to lose her balance and fell heavily while trying to complete the catch. Following which, play was halted immediately as medical staff rushed to assess her. The injury is a big blow because Henry has played a key role with both bat and ball. Meanwhile, the extent of injury remains unclear and the board has said that an update will be issued following the complete assessment of the player. West Indies are set to begin their T20 World Cup campaign on Saturday in Southampton by clashing with defending champions New Zealand.
