New Zealand turn to Will Young after Williamson's retirement

New Zealand have named Will Young as the replacement for Kane Williamson in their squad for the final two Test matches against England, following the veteran batter's decision to retire from international cricket on Friday.
Young now gets an opportunity to strengthen New Zealand's batting unit during a crucial stage of the series. The right-handed batter is expected to arrive in England on June 14 and will join team preparations ahead of the second Test, scheduled to begin at The Oval on June 17.
Young's most recent appearance in the format came in December during New Zealand's home series against West Indies in Christchurch. Having played 23 Test matches, Young has accumulated 1,215 runs. Notably, Young's recent form in limited-overs cricket has been mixed. During New Zealand's ODI tour of Bangladesh, he registered scores of 30, 2, and 19, failing to play any substantial innings.
