Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out of Ireland T20Is

Indian allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the upcoming two-match T20I series against Ireland with a quadriceps injury. He is also in India's ODI and T20I squads for the England tour, and the latest setback has thrown his participation in the subsequent white-ball series against England into jeopardy. Recently, Reddy was part of India's three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, featuring in the first and third games.
He had been rested for the second game after suffering an injury in the first ODI. However, Reddy returned for the third T20I, bowling six overs for 42 runs without any wicket. Notably, Reddy was brought in India's ODI and T20I squads to shoulder the all-round responsibilities in the absence of Hardik Pandya, who is out due to injury and has not been seen in action since the IPL 2026.
"Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the Ireland series. The MRI has revealed swelling with fibre disruption in the left quadriceps. He has been asked to report at COE for further assessment," the medical bulletin in possession of PTI stated.
The report further stated that Reddy will need at least four weeks to complete his rehabilitation, and the recovery timeline could go beyond that. No replacement has been named yet for Reddy.
