Litton Das ruled out of Zimbabwe ODIs

Bangladesh have been handed a big blow in their ongoing ODI series against Zimbabwe, with wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das being ruled out of the remainder of the tour because of a hamstring injury. Earlier, Das was expected to miss only the opening ODI, played on July 6.
However, after medical assessment, the management confirmed that Litton has not made a sufficient recovery to return to action. In his absence, Bangladesh have called up Parvez Hossain Emon for the second and third ODIs.
"Litton had already missed the first ODI and is still not match-fit. He underwent a fitness test today, but the result was not satisfactory. With two back-to-back ODIs coming up, we don't believe he will recover enough to take part in the series," Bangladesh national team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said.
It is a double blow for Bangladesh, who endured a disappointing start to the series after suffering a surprise defeat in the first ODI against Zimbabwe, going down by 25 runs. Bangladesh will now look to bounce back in the second match, to be played on July 9. A win in the second match will help Bangladesh level the series 1-1.
