West Indies bring in Hetmyer to replace injured Justin Greaves for second and third NZ ODIs

West Indies have called in explosive batter Shimron Hetmyer to their squad for the second and third ODIs against New Zealand. Hetmyer has been added to the squad to replace injured Justin Greaves. who picked up a back injury that also put him out of the first game, according to CWI. Greaves has headed back to Barbados to continue rehabilitation.
Hetmyer was last seen in action in an ODI back in June 2025. However, he was recently called to West Indies' squad for the three-match series against Sri Lanka, but he could not feature in a single game. Notably, he was earlier left out of the team's squad for the New Zealand series due to his commitment to the MLC, but his side (Seattle Orcas) failed to progress into the playoffs, discharging him to resume national duties.
West Indies will now face New Zealand in the second ODI on Tuesday at Providence Stadium. They won the first match by seven wickets to take a 1-0 lead.
