India claimed a spectacular seven-wicket win over Zimbabwe in the opening T20I at Harare on Thursday, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi slamming an explosive half-century. Chasing 126, India made light work of the chase after teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi attacked Zimbabwe bowlers from the very first over.

The talented kid raced to a magnificent half-century from 18 deliveries, blasting four boundaries and four sixes. However, Sooryavanshi's whirlwind knock came to an end immediately after he was taken out by Richard Ngarva. Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer scored 35 and 28*, respectively, to take the side to victory in 13.2 overs.

Earlier, Indian bowlers laid the foundation for the win after captain Shreyas Iyer had Zimbabwe to bat. Pacer Mayank Yadav impressed with figures of 2-18, while Prince Yadav also claimed two wickets for 19 runs. Shivam Dube and Ravi Bishnoi took one wicket each to restrict Zimbabwe to 125/7 in 20 overs. For Zimbabwe, Ryan Burl and Wesley Madhevere scored 26 and 39 to take the side to a respectable total.
