"One opposition player's shirt": Jos Buttler praises Rohit Sharma after receiving signed jersey

England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler shared a special moment with Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma following the conclusion of the three-match ODI series between England and India. Buttler revealed his happiness after receiving a signed Team India jersey from Rohit, calling the veteran Indian opener one of his favourite players of all time. Buttler took to Instagram to share a picture of the memorable gift on Instagram, expressing his appreciation for the gesture from the Indian batting legend.
"One opposition player's shirt I've always wanted, one of my all-time favourite players! Will treasure this, thank you, @rohitsharma45," Buttler wrote.
As for Rohit’s performance, the legendary batter struggled to make a major impact in the opening two games, leading to speculations surrounding his place in India’s ODI plans ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. However, the veteran opener silenced the doubters in spectacular fashion in the final match of the series, cracking 138 off 110 balls with the help of 17 boundaries and five sixes.
The innings was hugely popular, as it was his first international hundred at Lord's. Across the three-match ODI series in England, Rohit accumulated 175 runs at an impressive average of 58.33 and a strike rate of 98.31. Notably, Rohit Sharma has retired from Test and T20I cricket, keeping himself active in only ODIs.
