The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the 12 host cities that will stage the 2027 Men's ODI World Cup. The global event, scheduled to run from October 4 to November 21, 2027, will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. South Africa will play the leading role in hosting the tournament, with eight cities earmarked to stage the majority of the tournament's 54 matches.

The 14th edition of the World Cup will feature 57 matches and 14 participating teams. The selected venues include Johannesburg, Centurion, Durban, Gqeberha, KuGompo City, Cape Town, Paarl, and Bloemfontein. The championship match is expected to take place at either the iconic Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg or Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town, both renowned for hosting memorable international contests.

Zimbabwe will host matches in Harare, Bulawayo, and Victoria Falls sharing. Namibia will make history by hosting matches in a senior ICC global tournament for the first time. The matches there will be held in Namibia Cricket Ground (Windhoek). 

The 2027 edition is hugely special because the first 50-over World Cup is set to return to Africa for the first time since 2003, when South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya jointly hosted the tournament. Since then, South Africa has hosted several major ICC events, including the inaugural ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2007, the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in 2023, and both the men's and women's Under-19 World Cups.

“The unveiling of the host cities and the tournament brand signals the start of a journey that will unite fans around the world and build anticipation for one of our sport’s biggest global events. The return of this prestigious tournament to Africa after 24 years is a landmark moment for cricket. We are confident that South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia will deliver an unforgettable event, showcasing the warmth, passion and rich diversity that make this region truly unique,” he added.
