The Hundred men's competition 2026: Aiden Markram to miss remainder of the tournament

Manchester Super Giants captain Aiden Markram is set to miss the remainder of the Hundred tournament after having flown back home due to personal reasons. The franchise has signed New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracebell as his replacement, and Jos Buttler will step up to take over the captaincy.
"Manchester Super Giants can confirm that men's captain Aiden Markram has returned to South Africa due to personal reasons," the franchise said in a statement on Wednesday. "Everyone at the Super Giants would like to extend our very best wishes to Aiden at this time, and thank him for his contribution to the team during this year's competition."
Markram was named appointed Manchester Super Giants’ captain following the auction in March. Under his leadership, the team registered victories in the first two matches. However, since then the side has recorded three defeats on the bounce. The side is currently sitting on the sixth spot in the points table with eight points and a positive NRR of +0.021.
