Galle Gallants clinched their maiden Lanka Premier League (LPL) title, defeating Jaffna Kings by five wickets in a one-sided final at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo on Saturday. The historic victory came on the back of amazing performances from Charith Asalanka and Eshan Malinga, who both combined to claim six wickets to dismantle Jaffna's batting order and bowled the four-time champions out for 123 in 19.3 overs.

Kamil Mishara was the lone warrior for Jaffna, constructing 41 from 32 balls to take the side to a modest total. Chasing the target, Galle lost Sam Harper in the opening over. Asalanka followed soon afterwards. However, Tom Rogers stepped up with a controlled innings that prevented the chase from slipping away.

Tom scored 34 from 27 deliveries. Dinura Kalupahana smashed 31 from 19 balls to keep the side on top. Down the order, Dasun Shanaka blasted 20 unbeaten to help Galle chase the target in 15.5 overs, finishing on 126/5.
