England captain Joe Root has registered a staggering achievement in his Test career, matching Indian great Sachin Tendulkar for the highest number of fifty-plus scores in Test cricket. Root claimed the landmark achievement during England’s ongoing first Test against Pakistan at Headingley on Thursday.

Root pummeled a superb 66 from 112 balls before his innings came to an end, slamming ten boundaries along the way. His half-century was his 68th in Test cricket, putting him in level with Tendulkar on the all-time list.

West Indies legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul occupies the third position with 66 fifty-plus scores. And former Australia skipper Allan Border and India great Rahul Dravid sit next, with 63 half-century scores apiece.
