Sri Lanka have made two changes to their squad ahead of the second Test against India, drafting batter Kamil Mishara and all-rounder Sahan Arachchige into the squad for the do-or-die face-off. The changes come as Sri Lanka miss the services of their experienced players Kusal Mendis, Pathum Nissanka and Dinesh Chandimal.

Both Kamil Mishara and Sahan Arachchige players have been in impressive form, and their presence will undoubtedly boost the team's chances for a win. Arachchige has been in red-hot form after finishing as his team's highest run-scorer in the series against India A. Mishara; on the other hand, he has been making waves on the domestic circuit that has earned him a call.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka are eyeing a desperate turnaround following a crushing defeat in the first Test where they were handed a 165-run defeat by India. Chasing a target of 372, Sri Lanka were dismissed for 206 after their top-order failed to stage a fight early on. Dhananjaya De Silva and Sonal Dinusha played fighting knocks of 59 and 84, respectively, to revive Sri Lanka’s chase; however, Indian spinner Manav Suthar, producing a disciplined spell, tore through Sri Lanka’s batting lineup to orchesterate India's win.

Sri Lanka squad for second India Test: Lahiru Udara, Kamil Mishara, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Kamindu Mendis, Dhananjaya De Silva (c), Sahan Arachchige, Sonal Dinusha, Niroshan Dickwella, Keshara Nuwantha, Prabath Jayasuriya, Milan Ratnayake, Lahiru Kumara, Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando
