Karn Sharma retires from international and domestic cricket

Experienced legspinner Karn Sharma has announced his retirement from international and Indian domestic cricket, bringing an end to a tremendous career. Sharma represented India in four international matches, playing one Test, two ODIs and a T20I. His final appearance for India came in November 2014.
Noticeably, Sharma had a career in domestic cricket. He played 97 First-Class matches and claimed 270 wickets. He also played 123 List A matches and 191 T20s, claiming 153 and 168 wickets, respectively. Over the years, he turned out for Uttar Pradesh, Railways, Vidarbha and Andhra, playing a major role with his wicket-taking spells.
"I now want to retire. I am extremely grateful to my family, BCCI, Railways, UPCA, Andhra, Vidarbha Cricket Association and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. After this, I will be available for coaching and other responsibilities related to the game of cricket," Karn Sharma said as quoted by Cricinfo.
Karn also made a name for himself in the Indian Premier League, where he represented multiple franchises. Sharma featured in 90 IPL matches, representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. His last appearance in IPL came with Mumbai Indians during the 2025 season.
