Afghanistan unveil squad for India T20Is
Afghanistan have unveiled a strong squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India, with Ibrahim Zadran set to lead the side. The series is scheduled to be played from September 13 to 17 at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in New Delhi.
Meanwhile, this will be Ibrahim Zadran’s first assignment as T20I captain. Pacer Naveen-ul-Haq also returns to the side after recovering from a stress fracture in his right shoulder. The injury had ruled him out of the T20I World Cup 2026, which was played earlier this year. The squad also includes powerful stars like Gulbadin Naib, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Nangyal Kharoti, Noor Ahmad, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
The series is historic, as it will mark the first-ever men's bilateral T20I series between both nations. Notably, earlier this year, Afghanistan travelled to India for a one-off Test and a three-match ODI series which India won comfortably.
