The inaugural edition of the European T20 Premier League 2026, featuring teams from Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands, is set to get underway from August 26. The six-team tournament will run until September 20, and the teams competing in the league are Amsterdam Flames, Rotterdam Dockers, Belfast Wolves, Dublin Guardians, Edinburgh Castle Rockers and Glasgow Cosmic.

The tournament opener will have a blockbuster clash between Rotterdam Dockers and Amsterdam Flames at the Voorburg Cricket Club on Wednesday. Notably, the tournament is set to be lit up by the presence of big names such as Steve Smith, Tim David, Ajinkya Rahane, Glenn Maxwell, Ravichandran Ashwin, Harry Tector and Daryl Mitchell. Veteran Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane, who recently retired from international cricket, will lead Amsterdam, marking his first appearance in franchise cricket since his retirement. 

The tournament will follow a double round-robin format, with the team topping the table after the league phase advancing straight to the final, while the second and third meet in the qualifier to compete for a place in the final.
