Sri Lanka unveil ODI squad for Pakistan tri-series

Sri Lanka have named their 16-member squad for the upcoming ODI tri-series in Pakistan, with Kusal Mendis set to lead the side. The series is very crucial in their preparations for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027. Sri Lankan management has included a few familiar names as well as new faces who will look to bolster their place in Sri Lanka’s white-ball setup.

Pathum Nissanka has been named in the squad. However, his participation is not yet guaranteed. He will travel with the Sri Lankan squad only after receiving medical clearance. Batter Avishka Fernando and all-rounder Sahan Arachchige have been included in the squad, coming in as replacements for Charith Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga, who are not part of the squad.

The line-up also includes Avishka Fernando, Kamil Mishara, Pavan Rathnayake, Sahan Arachchige, Kamindu Mendis and Janith Liyanage. The tri-series is scheduled to begin on October 18 with the face-off between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi.
