An extraordinary batting performance from Shai Hope has steered West Indies to a comprehensive consolation victory over India in the third ODI at Mullanpur on Saturday. Chasing a mammoth target of 352, Hope played an astounding knock, remaining unbeaten on a magnificent 162 to guide West Indies to a five-wicket victory. Amir Jangoo also played a major role with his much-needed 67 as West Indies went over the line in 48.2 overs.

Earlier, India, deciding to bat, had posted a colossal total of 351/7, with KL Rahul leading the charge through a spectacular unbeaten 129. Rohit Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad also made valuable contributions. Notably, India had a dull start, slipping to 4/2 inside the opening three overs after Jayden Seales struck twice in successive deliveries. Shubman Gill departed for only one before Virat Kohli was dismissed for a duck.

Rohit handled things nicely, scoring 92 from 85 deliveries. His knock featured 10 boundaries and three sixes. Gaikwad helped with 57 off 69 balls. His innings included a boundary and four sixes, helping India get to a respectable total.
