England pacer Brydon Carse charged by Cricket Regulator following Derby nightclub incident

England fast bowler Brydon Carse has been charged by the Cricket Regulator over an incident at a Derby nightclub in August, with the governing body stating that his conduct brought the sport into disrepute. Carse was in the headlines after an incident following Durham’s County Championship match against Derbyshire. After Durham’s victory, Carse, along with some of his teammates, was seen at a nightclub in Derby during the early hours of August 23. Carse was arrested in the wee hours on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. Later footage circulating on social media showed him being escorted from the venue in handcuffs.
“Following a Cricket Regulator investigation, Brydon Carse has been charged with breaching regulation 3.2 of the ECB professional conduct regulations, in relation to events in Derby in the early hours of the morning on 23rd August 2026,” Cricket Regulator said in a statement.
“The matter will now be referred to the independent Cricket Discipline Panel for adjudication.”
“As the process is ongoing, no further comment will be made.”
Carse is alleged to have breached Regulation 3.2
"No participant may conduct themself in a manner, do any act or make any omission at any time which is improper or which may be prejudicial to the interests of cricket or which may bring the ECB, the game of cricket or any cricketer or group of cricketers into disrepute."
In light of that incident, Carse was left out of England's squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's and he has not featured for England since then.
